You’re Beautiful

If you call someone fat it won’t make you skinny.

  If you call someone stupid,

                                      it won’t make you smart.

If you call someone weak,   It won’t make you strong.

If you tell someone they are out of style,

                                               it won’t make you stylish.

If you tell someone they are weird

                                       It won’t make you  normal.

If you tell someone their beliefs are stupid,

it won’t make your beliefs any better.

If you tell someone they can’t do anything, won’t help you accomplish anything.

If you tell someone ugly,

                                                   It won’t make you beautiful.

God made us EXACTLY the way we are supposed to be. He made every part of you the way he wanted it. The world looks at you and says ‘you’re ugly, you don’t belong,’ the world looks on the outside. God says, “you are my creation, you are beautiful.” God sees the inside, he’s sees your beauty.

I know it can be hard, you want to be ‘perfect’, especially when the people around you are better than you, prettier than you, more athletic, etc. And just a few days ago i asked “God why couldn’t you just had made me perfect? Why do i have to be this way?” and he gave me an answer, if he made us ‘perfect’ or the best at everything, we would learn nothing. We wouldn’t know how to overcome, we wouldn’t have strength, when we would fall down we wouldn’t know how to get back up.

Don’t listen to what the world says, they will always say you aren’t worth it, and put you down, but God looks at you and says that’s my child, and they are so beautiful.

Busy bees

Hello everyone!

Yes, I’m very sorry it’s been such a long time. Like I’ve said before I’m a procrastinator, it’s in my DNA. But, i have been busy, it’s been a little crazy since school and basketball started. but one September 9-11 i went on a mini vacation. My mom, two sisters, my sister’s sister-in-law and mother in-law went to ocean city for the weekend. We stayed in the Spinnager hotel, it was pretty nice but it was sorta crammed having six women in one room with only two beds and a fold out couch. My mom paid for the room and it was a present to my sister Beca for her 21 birthday.

My mom’s birthday was on September 23, my sister had her 21st birthday on September 27th. We watched my niece Kylie while they went out for dinner. I began a basketball clinic in early september, wow can you believe it’s october! But anyway, I’ll be playing for the Force this year and i doubt we will win as many games as we did last year. (we are losing 4 of our best players) but maybe this is a change for me to step up and win some games! i just hope we have some fun and not fret about having to win or lose.

It’s been very wet and cold here in Maryland, (at least were i live.) This morning was bone chilling cold. A whole bunch of Bikers (people on motorcycles) went by our house today, i felt sorry for them because it was so cold outside!

Well have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Sincerely

Alicia Dunk =)

I’ve sometimes wondered, if my cats were humans what kind of people would they be? So I type before you today with my own answer.

Lets start with my oldest cat Cisco: (yes she’s named after the company, my dad used to work there until he was let go with about 2000 other people.)

This is Cisco. She’s about 9 years old. And this is what kind of person I think she would be like.

I think Cisco would be a very private person. Someone who enjoys their privacy and is very unsocial. Also I think she would be very self-sufficient, she doesn’t need much help with things. Or she can be afraid to ask for help. Maybe someone who is looking for the perfect one someone to hold her and support her. I would also think of her as someone who isn’t very cheerful, maybe someone who is in a tough place and has a hard time finding hope in the situation. I could also imagine her sitting on the beach watching the sunset. (she loves the sun.)

Second Oldest Evie: (She’s a Maine coon cat That’s why she’s so big)

Evie is about 7 years old. This is what I think she would be like:

Evie would probably be like a 16-year-old male teenager. Very unmotivated, likes to sleep a lot, and very lazy. But when she would get lonely she annoys the sardines out of someone. I think she would be a very insecure person,  is afraid to try new things, lives in fear, and is very comfortable in her own home doing nothing. Also I think she would be very unsocial, and doesn’t like being around people who much.

And last but not least Pepper:

Pepper is 3 years old. She practically walked into our house one day and we’ve kept her ever since.

Pepper would be very energetic, out to do anything, not afraid to try new things. She knows what buttons to press to get what she wants. I think she would be very stubborn, if she wants to do something, nothing gets in her way.And she would probably be annoying to some of the people around her. She ruins things , sometimes on purpose but usually not on purpose. But, I could imagine her have 3 very close friends who don’t care what she does they will anyways be her friend. And I think she would be a very impatient person that hates waiting.

And there you have it, all my cats in human form as annoying as ever. Hope you enjoyed it. here are some funny pictures of my cats:

And this my cat grace.  She was put down in 2008. She was sick and she lived all her life with hyperthyroidism. She was the best cat we’ve ever had and we miss her dearly. God let her rest in peace. (1994-2008)

Hello again!

I can not believe that school starts up in less than two weeks. (scary…) I hope that everyone has made good memories this summer. On Saturday August 6th my mom dad and I went to Baltimore Maryland at 6:00am. My mom had a workshop for an exam she is going to take so we decided to come with her. (112 miles, round trip) My dad and I dropped my mom off at 7:00ish and we went to go park in a parking garage. Then for two hours we wandered around the inner harbor naming pigeons as we went along. We witnessed a wedding on Federal Hill. (small only about 10 people), after 9:00am we went to the national Baltimore aquarium. it was their 30th anniversary. I love fish it was a lot of fun. I’m not sure my dad enjoyed it as much as I did but I think he had some fun…

After wandering around and having ‘fun’ we went to go pick up my mom at 5:00pm. Our GPS died on the way there and my dad and I got very frustrated. ok mostly my dad. but thank god we didn’t get lost, I don’t think my mom, dad or I could endure that. Then we drove home exhausted and happy to go to our wonderful cozy home.

Sunday was a nice surprise. I opened my eyes at 7 am…everything hurt. From two hours and running up and down a basketball court on Friday and walking too much on saturday my body was in denial of getting up. So I rolled over and went back to sleep. The next time I woke up my clock read 9:35am. I didn’t think much of it until 5 seconds later when I realized what time it was. I got to church and we usually leave around 9:40ish. You do the math. I raced out of bed got dressed and combed my teeth, brushed my hair…wait a second. My mom was in Baltimore for the last day of her workshop and my brother was sick. (so remember when I was sick not to long ago? Well i got my brother sick…oops?) And we went out the door. Our church is at a school, our congregation is about 50-60 people on a good day. This particular Sunday the AC was not working. I was wearing (nice) jeans because I’m usually freezing. But not this Sunday. Hopefully it will be on by next Sunday.

And today I refused to go to basketball clinic at 10:30am. So I had a nice free day to relax and do whatever I wanted to. I’ve been cleaning, doing laundry, helping my mom, putting together a 1000 piece puzzle in my room and getting on the computer. And I’m sorry I don’t have any awesome pictures to show you from Baltimore but the thing is I have to upload them onto my computer and I don’t have an adapter thingy to plug into the computer and when you do upload pictures you have to upload them all. And I have A LOT of pictures on my camera. so just enjoy this wonderful picture that I found on the internet.

That’s the aquarium. So yeah…

Thanks for reading!

What Is A Good Friend?

What is a good friend?

These are the top qualities that I think a good friend/best friend should have:

#1: Is a lot of fun to be around.

#2: Is willing to go places with you and hang out.

#3: A good friend listens.

#4: A good friend respects you and your opinion.

#5: A good friend should be able to be kind towards your family and you.

#6: A good friend needs to have compassion.

#7: A good friend laughs with you, and cries.

#8: They are supportive.

#9: They have things in common with you.

#10: They give advice, but are not controlling.

#11: A good friend considers your feelings.

#12: A good friend will always help you in your time of need.

#13: A good friend is never truly gone.

#14: A good friends is willing to do what you want to do.

#15: A good friend can keep a secret, and knows when to tell someone.

#16: A good friend can talk with you for hours.

#17: A good friend picks you up when you are down.

#18: A good friend knows when something is wrong.

#19: A good friend can always make you smile.

#20: And if they have all of these qualities or even just some, you can now know they are a true friend. Don’t lost them…

I Love My Life

I Love My Life…

Such interesting four words.  Yet, most people choose, I hate my life…

So why don’t people love their life?

Just like I do?

Some things about me:

I live out in the country where its beautiful and there’s lush green grass, open fields, and some of the prettiest sunsets you’ve ever seen. I’m very lucky, both of my parents and alive and still married, I am home-schooled, I have Jesus in my heart, I have a house, a closet full of clothes, good friends, and my family loves me, I have a pretty good life, don’t you think?

So what is different from me saying ‘i love my life’ to people who say the opposite?

Theory: Maybe they don’t notice that their life isn’t as crummy as it may seem.

Solution: Look at what you do have, and look at what someone else who has less than you do… things will change. Probably true that someone has more than you but odds are there is someone who has 3 times less than you do.

Revolutionary? World changing? Don’t get too excited, there’s still people who think their life is crummy. You see these people obviously can’t look past what’s hard in their life or they are just down in the dumps.

To end this wonderful subject I am going to talk about two kinds people and you might fall into one of the categories. (yes you the good one)

#1: The ‘I’m feeling bad so you should too’ people: Lets call these people ‘gnats’

You know who I’m talking about, those people who always complain. When its hot they drag their feet crying out its hot, on every third step. Those people at work who don’t do something (like their job) and you know and they know that if you don’t fix it you will get in trouble. Those people who take every tiny opportunity to make your life miserable. In a word they are like gnats. They never go away and they go up your nose and in your eye then you can’t get them out and then after that one is out another one comes and smacks you right in the eye.

#2: The ‘What’s the use?’ people

Yes, you know these people too, you might even be one of them. they walk around asking what’s the point? Well if you need a point of doing something or you’re just too depressed to do something, you need to stay home. Cause there are people out there who are trying to live their lives to the fullest. they make you stay behind with them and you get to miss out on the fun. You don’t want to leave them behind, but you want to have some fun too. But they won’t budge. These people look at a sunset and have no emotion towards it whatsoever.

Both of these kind of people think their lives are so pathetic that they make the people around them miserable and make them feel like their life is a waste. But you see? You life does have meaning and you can be thankful for what you have…if you just try. so just try, you’ll find that your life isn’t as so bad as before. now let’s go get some ice cream. =-)

If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep…

You are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace…

You are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness…

You are more blessed than the millions who will not survive this week…

If you have never experienced the danger of battle,  the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture or the pangs of starvation…

You are ahead of 500 million people in the world.

If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death…

You are more blessed than three billion people in the world.

If your parents have a good relationship, are still alive and still married..

                                                               You are very rare.

If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful…

You are blessed because the majority can, but most do not.

If you can hold someone’s hand, hug them or even touch them on the shoulder…

You are blessed because you can offer a healing touch.

If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you and furthermore.

You are more blessed than over the two billion people in the world that cannot read at all.

I found a paper in our house with this on it and I wanted to share all of it with you guys, because it makes you think about how blessed you are.  And you think twice about complaining and looking at your life and saying how unlucky you are. I’m not really sure who this was written by but I do give credit who discovered how amazingly blessed they are. I was working on finding these pictures for a while so it took about a week to get everything in order to do this.

Thanks for reading.

i did it again =(

Hello!

Sorry about being gone so long, it’s funny how I just put out that post about me not procrastinating anymore then I leave for a week. =) Sorry. Anyway I went to camp Joy El (in PA) for five days. (17th-22nd) I had a blast! I made a lot of friends and it was a lot of fun. And I’m sorry I didn’t have time to post something to tell you where or when I was going so sorry. Again…

Anyhoo! So I got on my blog yesterday and now I have 21 views!!!! I’m so happy and thank you for reading, even though I’ve probably been boring you I still thank you. Anyway, my last swim meet was on Saturday. (23rd) It was very tiring. I got disqualified in the breaststroke. =( for the second time. That’s actually really sad I’ve only swam the breaststroke three times in a meet, and only once I haven’t been disqualified.

If you want to know more about the camp I went to, it’s a great christian camp, here’s the link:

http://www.joyel.org/

It’s a lot of fun and a great way to get connected with god.  Well I don’t have a lot to say so have a great day bye!

Thanks for reading!!

Hello,

I’m very sorry that I haven’t written in a little while. I would say I’ve been busy, or that I haven’t had time but that would be a lie. Yes, I have been a little busy but I’ve had plenty of time to post. So I’m sorry. I’m a procrastinatior, I know it’s a bad thing

I’m trying to improve. =)

Anyway,  I had a swim meet on Saturday. It was a lot of fun I almost got first place in the back-stroke but two people beat me by about 3-5 milliseconds. And I also got disqualified on my breast-stoke. =( My goal for my next swim meet is not to get DQ.

So for my birthday I usually get $10 from my grandma Amy. But this year I didn’t get anything in the mail. I just gave up until my mom called me upstairs and said she had another birthday present for me. When I went on a family reunion/vacation/eightieth birthday for my grandma my grandma gave my mom something to give me for my birthday. Anyway, it was a 1970 bone glass tea-cup and plate. It’s from England and had July on the inside of the cup with flowers on the cup and the plate. Its beautiful and I also got $10 from her. So here I am procrastinating. I have to write my grandmother a tank you note.

Yesterday I had lots of fun with my mom. We went shopping everywhere! We went to 3 clothes stores, Joanns, ACMoore, Wal-Mart, Sams club and Chick fille’. Chick fille was HEAVEN! I spent my $50 dollars that my brother gave me on 3 scrapbooks, scrapbook stickers, 2 $10 iTunes gift cards and I have $5 left over. I love spending money when I know I can, don’t you? Well I better not procrastinate any longer so goodbye!
